Kendrick Lamar wins Best Rap Album at the 2023 Grammy Awards

Since the first announcement of the 2023 Grammy Award candidates in November, anticipation has been growing for the ceremony. Celebrities have been busy planning the ideal look, speculating about prospective winners, and eventually attending the Los Angeles ceremony last night in the months since then. Unquestionably, the evening was star-studded, and while there were many memorable musical moments, some fans felt snubbed.
Rap Album of the Year is one of the night’s top awards for fans of hip-hop. DJ Khaled, Pusha T, Future, Kendrick Lamar, and, shockingly, Jack Harlow’s sophomore album were on the list of finalists this year. The songwriter from Compton ultimately won for his contributions to Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. In addition, he received awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
Of course, Beyoncé was the night’s greatest victor. She created history by taking home the titles of Dance/Electronic Album, Traditional R&B Performance, R&B Song, and Dance Recording, among the nine categories in which she was nominated. The mother of three was nominated for Album of the Year, but Harry Styles’ third studio album won the award.
A well-deserved award. Ever since “Section 80” I felt this guy was going to mess things up. And “Good kid maad city” was a total dope!
